Early life

Big Page was born on May 11, 1988 in the Jane and Finch neighborhood of Toronto, Ontario in Canada. His parents are from Ghana in West Africa. He spent much of his youth on the football field and was later scouted to play for the Boise State Broncos football team of Boise State University in Idaho. After several run-ins with the law, Page followed the advice of his now-deceased friend Kirk Richards and turned to creating music.

Music career

Big Page released his debut single "Ballin' Is My Hobby" in 2007, which quickly became popular in his hometown of Toronto and in the online community. The video for the remix of the song featuring Mims aired on MuchMusic[1] and was hailed as a hip-hop anthem, earning Page credit in the mainstream market. In 2009 Page released "I'm Still Fly" featuring then-unsigned rapper Drake, which garnered a lot of attention and led to the still-unresolved conflict between the two rappers.

Conflict with Drake

The tension between Big Page and Drake began in early 2009 after they collaborated on the song “I’m Still Fly”. Drake released a solo remix of the song before the original version went to radio. However, the official video for "I'm Still Fly" featured both Drake and Page and was aired on World Star Hip Hop.[2]

In late 2009, Drake was allegedly robbed in Toronto and filed a police report naming the assailants. In response, Page publicly denounced the actor-turned-rapper via Twitter as "a snitch and a coward".[3] In early 2010 in Toronto, one of Drake’s bodyguards took a swing at Page’s manager at a birthday party for then-Toronto Raptor Chris Bosh. Later that same year, Page and Drake ran into each other at the Miami nightclub Cameo, where the two shook hands. Although there was no altercation, Drake unsuccessfully attempted to have bodyguards remove Page from the club. The conflict is still unresolved.

Big Page has released two tracks that address the conflict with Drake, "No Fear" and "While You Were Sleeping"[4], while Drake has shot subliminal messages at Page in his songs "9 AM in Dallas" and "Headlines".
